i crocheted these vessels out of yarn i made from old t-shirts.
i really love their simplicity, irregularity and floppiness, and how the printed part of the shirt shows up wherever it wants, giving you a glimpse of its prior life. i fantasize about making lots of white ones, in all different shapes and sizes, and dip dyeing them in natural dyes. …one day….
right now, they’re holding bear parts!
Hi Holly, love your bowls. I have done many similar projects, knitting recycled t-shirts. http://mydailybag.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/knitted-bag-with-t-shirt-yarn/

This is an absolutely amazing project! Making yarn from old T-shirts and crocheting with it?!!! I’m dying to try this on one of my peg looms!
Um, I kinda love these. A lot. Like, I might have to try learning to crochet again and attempt to make some of these.
Thank you! You should try it. It’s kind of embarrassingly easy.
