mister and i have been hard at work these past few weeks, preserving food for the winter. we’ve frozen over a gallon of blueberries, 8 cups of pesto, a half-gallon of tomatoes (from our garden!), and most importantly, pickled A LOT of veggies. this weekend we opened all of the new ones to give them a try.
from left to right:
bread and butter pickles
hot cumin-pickled summer squash
dilly beans!
spicy carrot pickles
all but the bread-and-butter are from “Canning for a New Generation” by Liana Krissoff. so far all the recipes have been really tasty.
we also have a batch of kosher dills going on the counter, which are coming along quite nicely. i’ll keep you posted on those!
