lazy days at the pond

you thought this was going to be a post about us summering by a pond, didn’t you? tricked you!

i actually made a lazy days skirt in rae’s new lotus pond fabric!

with a little gingham trim…

this is my first lazy days skirt, which seems kind of crazy now.  i used this method to attach the gingham band at the bottom so that the seam is all enclosed.  (i’m just not crazy about the ribbon hem finish that goes along with the regular skirt instructions.) i altered the pattern by removing a few inches to allow for a wider band – crazy simple!

what’s in that basket up there you ask? rose petals!

summer has been great, and so so busy, as i’m sure it is for everyone.  i’m about to jump into planning a certain four year old’s birthday party!
